The Parker

 

The Parker, a Gateway to Yonkers, accommodates a busy intersection and blends within the adjacent Van Cortlandt Park.

Mitigating the height, the building volume is articulated with two setbacks responding to surrounding context in conjunction with a separately articulated elevator/stair corner volume.

The building's lower levels utilize various architectural elements and features serving as a dynamic building base. Streetscape transparency lends to activating the Caryl and Broadway intersection.

Sustainability goals are achieved through the utilization of a high-performance thermal envelope, all LED lighting with daylight controls, and high-performance, right-sized, smart mechanical systems.

The Parker includes 160 units of affordable rental housing over 16 stories for low/ moderate income families and individuals. Additional building features include:

Funding for this project was provided through Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits, New York State Brownfield Tax Credits, County of Westchester IDA Tax Exempt Bonds and NHLA, City of Yonkers HOME funds, and AARP.
